Coming Soon: EFM Silent Retreat is September 10-12

Based on feedback from around a dozen interested members and attenders, Ministry & Counsel approved recommending that the Annual Fall Silent Retreat take place this fall. It will be held the weekend of September 10-12 at Portiuncula Center for Prayer in Frankfort, IL.

Additional details follow:

• Silence begins after dinner Friday and continues until after breakfast on Sunday.  

• The retreat schedule will be approximately the same as in past years…opening and closing worship sharing and meetings for worship each day. Silence will be maintained among participants unless an urgent matter arises.

• EFM has reserved 10 rooms for the retreat.  EFM will assume responsibility for the financial contract with the Center.  As has been done in the past, those who can afford the full cost of the two nights and four meals, pay that amount or a little extra so those needing financial assistance can have that available from EFM.

• Only EFM members and/or regular attenders are eligible for scholarship funds.

• Registration will become open quite soon for Evanston Meeting Friends and regular attenders. If space remains by August 15, registration will be opened to other Friends in the area at actual cost.
